I created three social media posts for the Manhattan Police Department of Illinois, featuring their K-9, Apollo, centered around national holidays of my choosing: St. Patrick’s Day, May the 4th (Star Wars Day), and Father’s Day. I selected unused images of Apollo and removed the backgrounds to keep the focus on him. I used Peckham Press as the consistent typeface for its bold, modern, slightly rugged style.
For St. Patrick’s Day, Apollo was dressed in themed apparel, paired with a green color palette and custom shamrocks to match the holiday vibe. I placed him slightly off-center to create a more dynamic composition and kept the text minimal to avoid clutter.
The May the 4th post was styled like an action movie poster—Apollo posed proudly with his badge, a lightsaber placed center for balance and energy, and TIE fighters on the left to bring in recognizable sci-fi elements. The slanted text mimics the iconic Star Wars title crawl.
For Father’s Day, I used a playful image of Apollo with a tennis ball, which inspired a lighthearted, engaging quote and a color palette based on the neon yellow and blue from the ball. These posts helped strengthen K-9 Apollo’s online presence while connecting with the audience through timely, visually engaging content.

Fathers Day and May the 4th be with you social media posts
