BDI Playhouse in Orland Park, Illinois tasked me with creating a new digital design logo for their upcoming Duathlon event, scheduled for September 21st, 2025, for participants ages 4–22. Drawing inspiration from their past event branding, I chose to incorporate black and white imagery of children who previously participated, layered with bold, vibrant colors to create a modern, dynamic look.
Since BDI serves many children who use various mobility aids, they wanted the design to reflect inclusivity and diversity, while using 10 or more colors closely aligned with their brand palette. The use of bright, energetic colors behind the children not only highlights their movement and individuality but also appeals to a wide age range.
To maintain focus on the kids, I placed the supporting logos of the organizations making the event possible subtly in the lower right corner, ensuring credit while keeping the spotlight on the participants.
